Running from September 5 to December 5, 2024, Prints & Printmaking will celebrate the craftsmanship of Arab artist-printmakers, featuring works from over 30 distinguished artists across the Middle East and North Africa. This remarkable exhibition will include rare, publicly unseen prints.
With more than 310 handmade fine art prints on paper, the showcase will feature works by notable artists such as Lebanese artists Said Baalbaki, Huguette Caland, and Mohamad El Rawas, Palestinian artists Kamal Boullata and Walid Abu Shakra, Iraqi artists Dia Al Azzawi, Suad al-Attar, and Rafa Nasiri, as well as Syrian painter Marwan Kassab-Bachi, among many others.
The exhibition will delve into various printmaking techniques and display archival materials and artists’ books. Toward the end of September, DAF will also host printmaking workshops led by Lebanese artist Ahmad Ghaddar, aka Renoz, and screen four exclusive filmed interviews with participating artists.
