Over the past weekend, Londoners had the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the culture and history of Saudi Arabia as the Diriyah, The City of Earth exhibition took over Outernet London from November 1 to 3. Presented by Diriyah Company, the free event transformed one of the UK’s most popular cultural hubs into a portal to Diriyah, one of Saudi Arabia’s most historic cities and a UNESCO-listed cultural landmark.
The exhibition space was adorned with warm desert tones, evoking the mud-brick architecture of Diriyah, and furnished with majlis-style seating that offered a taste of traditional Saudi hospitality. Visitors were invited to sit and experience Saudi culture firsthand, as the display brought to life the rich heritage and pride associated with the historic city.
Celebrating Diriyah’s role as a centre of Saudi pride and cultural narrative, the installation successfully introduced UK audiences to Saudi Arabia’s historic and cultural heart. Through immersive visuals and decor, attendees gained insight into Diriyah’s significance in Saudi history and its growing influence as a cultural symbol on the world stage.
