London Art Fair returns from 20 to 25 January 2026, bringing together leading international galleries and contemporary artists.
Among this year’s participants is Sheikha Maryam Al Qassimi, artistically known as Marya Al Qassimi, who will present a selection of works, including previously unseen pieces, through the Lisbon-based Perve Galeria.

Born in 1993, Marya Al Qassimi is a member of Sharjah’s royal family and represents a new generation of artists redefining creative practice beyond traditional institutional roles. She is the niece of Sheikh Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi, founder of the Barjeel Art Foundation, and has steadily built an international presence through her distinctive artistic language.
Her practice explores surrealist expression through psychic automatism, using oil painting and mixed media to investigate the unconscious and the unknown. Drawing on Middle Eastern cultural references, her work merges personal symbolism with broader cultural narratives, resulting in compositions that challenge perception and invite introspection.

Marya Al Qassimi’s work has been exhibited in major exhibitions across the region and internationally. In addition to her studio practice, she is the founder of ReKN (Renaissance-Era Kinship Nexus) ركن, a creative space in Sharjah dedicated to exploring the relationships among art, movement, and the subconscious.
