UK charity Turquoise Mountain will mark its 20th anniversary with a major new exhibition opening on 12 February at the Garrison Chapel in London.

Titled Craftsmanship and Community: 20 Years of Turquoise Mountain, the exhibition is the organisation’s first major retrospective, celebrating two decades of preserving traditional craftsmanship and supporting artisan communities.
Founded in Afghanistan in 2006 by His Majesty King Charles III, Turquoise Mountain now works across Jordan, Myanmar, Palestine and Saudi Arabia, connecting artisans to international markets, fostering excellence in craftsmanship, and supporting communities through healthcare and education.
To date, the organisation has trained and employed more than 11,500 artisans, restored over 170 historic buildings, provided primary healthcare to more than 250,000 patients, and delivered education and cultural heritage programmes to over 4,500 children.

The exhibition offers a rare opportunity to explore the crafts, traditions, and personal stories of artisans who work to preserve their heritage for future generations. Highlights include hand-woven carpets and textiles, embroidery, jewellery, hand-blown glass, woodwork, ceramics, tilework, stonework, miniature painting and lacquerware.

Set within the beautifully restored Garrison Chapel at London’s Chelsea Barracks, just behind Pimlico Road, the exhibition will also feature live craft demonstrations and pop-up displays by Turquoise Mountain’s retail partners.
