Gubgub Studios is Qatar’s first artist-run, affordable shared studio space for creatives across disciplines, not just a workspace, but a living arts hub. It brings artists together through events, mentorships, talks and collaborations that strengthen both creative practice and professional growth, with a strong focus on peer exchange, meaningful relationships, and exposure to regional and international voices. The initiative aims to kickstart grassroots, artist-led activity in Qatar, provide stable long-term studio space, foster dialogue and mentorship, and support artists’ careers through visibility and critical engagement. The facilities include affordable 24/7 shared studios with essential amenities; workshop spaces such as a wood shop, print studio, photography and printing facilities with access to local fabrication networks; a shared art and culture library; and a flexible multipurpose space for exhibitions, talks, screenings and workshops all sustained through shared community resources.
