AFAC launches “ecologies of culture” to address global challenges

The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC) has unveiled Ecologies of Culture, a new programme placing creativity at the heart of solutions to global issues such as climate change, gender inequality, and digital transformation.

Marking a regional milestone, AFAC is the first Arab organisation to lead a European Union–funded cultural initiative, delivered in partnership with Oxfam Italy, Megaphone, and Echos Electrik. Over four years, the program will support 58 projects across nine Arab countries, combining funding with mentorship, workshops, and networking.

Structured around Creative Placemaking, Creative Labs, and Creative Caravans, the initiative invites artists and cultural organisations to collaborate with diverse sectors and reimagine responses to today’s interconnected challenges.
