Hikayetna is thrilled to announce staging an evening of beautiful music on 26 May at the Levant Book Cafe. It’s their first Park Royal Nights &features a magical line up of incredible artists swapping songs & stories.
Park Royal Nights is a monthly event May, June and July that fuses storytelling, poetry, and music to engage and inspire local communities, attract more audiences from different backgrounds, and celebrate the area’s rich diversity. It will give space to local people from various ethnicities, allowing them to participate in activities and learn about different cultures. This process crosses ethnic boundaries and helps people celebrate multiculturalism together in the rapidly growing area of Ealing.
Local artists and emerging talent will gather and tell the life stories, experiences, songs, heritage and opinions of people from residents, especially those who are otherwise excluded from society and the opportunities for people to realise their creative potential. The events will be held in different venues where different communities are represented. They will be a positive voice for the community.
This project supported by Mayor of London’s Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC) and Ealing Council as part of the Open Call for Ideas for the Acton and Park Royal Creative Enterprise Zone (CEZ).
The Mayor launched his Creative Enterprise Zones programme in 2018 and has invested
£14m to help areas across the capital to support artists and creative businesses, find permanent and affordable space to work, provide support to new creative businesses and improve access to creative sector skills and employment. The ground-breaking initiative has already established nearly 1,000 creative apprenticeships, training and work placements across London, and by 2025 will have increased new, permanent, affordable workspace by more than 65,000sqm.
